BCA provides a limited number of subsidized space rentals through an application process with the goal of making BCA-managed spaces accessible and welcoming for all members of our community. Applications are reviewed by BCA staff on a quarterly basis on approximately July 1, September 1, December 1, and April 1. BCA-managed spaces include Contois Auditorium, City Hall Park, and the BCA Center.
Priority for subsidies is given to applications for events that meet the following criteria:
- Are presented by an arts organization or present arts-related content
- Are presented by a small nonprofit organization (under $500,000 annual budget)
- Are presented by a Burlington-based organization
- Are free and open to the public
- Intend to strengthen and connect community
Please note that subsidies are limited throughout the year and not every application received will be funded. In an effort to make our spaces accessible to more members of our community, no single event will be awarded more than $500 in subsidies to offset rental fees and individuals may not receive subsidies. Subsidy support is contributed to the event as a discount and noted on the event rental agreement. No cash payouts will be made. Events that are awarded a subsidy must list BCA as an in-kind supporting sponsor.
In addition to completing our rental inquiry form (if not already in conversation with us about your event), please answer the following questions:
