Dividing her time between Northern Vermont and her native Australia, Sarah Amos is among a generation of artists who have devised conceptual and formal innovations in printmaking that transcend local histories and conventions to form new meanings. Combining multiple printmaking techniques -etching, monoprint, and collograph- with painting and stitch work; Amos upends traditional notions of printmaking to create monumentally scaled works that evoke a confluence of cultures. Her large-scale prints and multiples allude to organic, scientific, and cultural ideas while exploring materiality and memory.
