Sunday Classical: Eclectica
City Hall Park

Eclectica is a Vermont-based string quartet dedicated to exploring the boundaries of the string quartet repertoire. Their free-range programs probe the creative intersection between classical and folk music, highlighting new compositions that use the string quartet in unusual ways. Violinists Sofia Hirsch and Laura Markowitz, violist Ana Ruesink, and cellist John Dunlop started playing together about ten years ago, inspired by a mutual love for the boundary-bending music of the Danish String Quartet. Since then, they've shared their musical explorations in concert settings as varied as libraries, nursing homes, backyards, film houses, churches, and barns.

2024 City Hall Park programming is underwritten by the Pomerleau Family Foundation and the WaterWheel Foundation. Media sponsor, Seven Days. Sunday Classical has support from Lake Champlain Chocolates.
