The Burlington Civic Symphony (BCSO) is Burlington’s premier auditioned community orchestra. Founded in 2011 by conductor Daniel Bruce and horn players Helen Read and Martha Walker, the orchestra's membership has grown to more than 60 talented musicians from Burlington and surrounding areas. The BCSO's mission is to present high-quality performances of great orchestral masterworks and works by living composers, bringing symphonic music to diverse audiences through special programs such as pops and children's concerts.
Guest conductor Ron White is an experienced conductor, bassist, and music educator. He leads the orchestra in a program of pops and light classical works suitable for a summer morning!
2024 City Hall Park programming is underwritten by the Pomerleau Family Foundation and the WaterWheel Foundation. Media sponsor, Seven Days. Sunday Classical has support from Lake Champlain Chocolates.
