PREVIEW

Lange is one of the most important documentary photographers of the 20th century. Her enduring images document five turbulent decades of American history including the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, Japanese American Internment Camps, and early environmentalism. Her haunting image, Migrant Mother, remains one of the most recognized images in the world and reveals the respect, empathy and sensitivity she brought to all of her subjects. This film is a powerful yet intimate portrait of a woman of passion, vision and creative drive who challenged herself to become a witness to a world unraveling around her. This challenge changed her life and her photographs would continually test the conscience of a nation.
