Shane Morrissey is a sculptor from New York City, who works with a mixed array of materials to create fragments of remembered scenes. The sculptures are rough, hunky and precarious, expressing the quirky calamities of his past in relation to new incidents that occur in the studio. Shane received his MFA from The University of Connecticut in 2014 and his BFA from MICA in 2009. His recent solo exhibition The Hobie Catreceived The Step Up 2013 Honorarium from Real Art Ways in Hartford CT. Shane has participated in residencies at The Wassaic Project and The Contemporary Artists Center. At Seven Below he will be starting a new series of work titled Sweet Catastrophe.
