Volunteer at BCA
Volunteers play an integral role in our mission of creating a dynamic relationship between the arts and the Burlington community. We hope that volunteers are able to increase their own skills and knowledge through trainings and events and we welcome volunteers who have an interest in the arts, regardless of their experience level.
The Benefits of Volunteering with BCA
As a welcome addition to the BCA community, we encourage volunteers to attend events, take classes, and enjoy recognition of their efforts by BCA staff. Volunteers who have been active within the last six months receive 10% off BCA classes and workshops. In addition, Special Event Volunteers often receive free t-shirts, food, and entry to ticketed events. Studio volunteers receive free access to the studio in which they are volunteering.
How to Apply for a Volunteer or Internship Opportunity
If you are interested in volunteering with Burlington City Arts, please direct inquiries and applications to the supervisor of the position for which you are applying. All volunteers must submit a Volunteer Application Form to the acting supervisor by email.

Areas of Need
Art from the Heart Volunteers
Do you have some time to give? Love art? Then Art from the Heart needs you! Art from the Heart is a program that connects patients, families, staff and visitors at the hospital with creativity. There are a variety of ways to help – from at home projects to in person kit assembly at the BCA Center. For now all in person volunteering at University of Vermont Medical Center and Children’s Hospital is on hold. Interest in the arts is important, but art expertise is not necessary.
For any questions and more information, please contact Rebecca Schwarz, Coordinator of Art from the Heart rschwarz@burlingtoncityarts.org.
BCA Center Gallery and Visitors Services Volunteers
Volunteers work to gain a deeper understanding of BCA while acting as representative to public. In the BCA Center, volunteers attend the gallery, interact with the public, assist with installations, assist with performance events, and provide general support to gallery staff.
