BCA SUMMER ART CAMP STAFF

Summer Camp Coordinator, Burlington City Arts

Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 Hourly

Schedule: Monday-Friday, June 19- August 18 from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Position Status: Seasonal

Burlington City Arts is seeking qualified applicants for a Summer Camp Coordinator position.  BCA offers a variety of hands-on half-day and full-day arts camps for ages 6-18 for eight weeks in the summer.  

Throughout the summer the Camp Coordinator works very closely with the Education Director and Education staff and will be in charge of running the day-to-day camp operations at BCA’s new education studios at 405 Pine Street.  Tasks include: camper check-in and check-out; providing camper lunch coverage from 11 a.m. -12 p.m.; organizing and stocking arts materials in classrooms; helping teaching artists with camper management, safety and well-being; coordinating and managing volunteer teaching assistants; and many other administrative tasks as necessary.

The position begins in late May or early June with some pre-camp prep hours (these days/times can be flexible).  Starting June 19 - August 18, the Camp Coordinator is expected to work Monday- Friday from approx. 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (with a ½ hr unpaid lunch break). There is also an unpaid week off during July 3-7. 

We are seeking candidates who have experience and/or enjoy working with children and who are enthusiastic, friendly, highly organized and dependable. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience working with youth preferred
  • Background in Arts preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with BCA staff, teachers and parents
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to a changing schedule

Camp Assistant, Burlington City Arts

Salary: $10.00 Hourly

Schedule: Monday-Friday, June 19- August 18 from 7:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Position Status: Seasonal

Burlington City Arts is seeking an energetic, dependable, and outgoing individual to assist with BCA’s Summer Camp program for ages 6-18.

This position will work closely with the BCA Camp Coordinator and BCA Education staff to provide critical assistance to help our camps run smoothly and efficiently. Tasks may include: camper check-in assistance, cleaning and organizing in the studios, individual and one-on-one camper assistance, assisting instructors in the classroom, helping with camp lunch coverage, preparing and organizing weekly Friday exhibitions, and other tasks as required.

This position requires someone with a flexible, energetic, and can-do attitude. We seek candidates who have experience and/or enjoy working with children and who are enthusiastic, friendly, highly organized, and dependable. This position is an excellent opportunity for a college student studying art education or a motivated and mature high school senior or recent graduate. Basic arts experience is a plus!

Camp Aftercare Instructor, Burlington City Arts

Salary: $15.00 Hourly

Schedule: Monday-Friday, June 19- August 18 from 2:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

Position Status: Seasonal

Burlington City Arts is seeking an energetic, dependable, and outgoing individual who would like hands-on experience working with children in a fun artistic environment. This is an 8 week long position (June 19- August 18) working as an Aftercare Instructor.  The Aftercare Instructor is responsible for the overall management and implementation of activities for campers ages 6-11.

As an Aftercare Instructor, you would be responsible for the following:

  • Camper check in/out
  • Supervision of campers during transitions between BCA locations 
  • Supervision during all aftercare hours
  • Supervise group outings (within walking distance)
  • Administrative duties (daily rosters, email communication with camp coordinator, Student information forms etc.)
  • Weekly art club preparation (Planning activities, gathering materials, field trip planning and coordination etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience working with youth preferred
  • Background in Arts preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with BCA staff, teachers and parents
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to a changing schedule
