Lewis Rubenstein: Legacy
June 24, 2011 - August 13, 2011
With an artistic career spanning seven decades, this exhibition featured three distinct bodies of work from Lewis Rubenstein. In his turbulent Creation series Rubenstein offered vibrant abstract paintings created with the sumi-e watercolor technique. In his early figurative paintings from the 1930’s Rubenstein documented the lives of the working class during The Depression. His Vermont series captured landscapes from his time in Shelburne, Vermont.
