Lowell Thompson at BCA Summer Concert Series

June 26, 2019, 12:30PM - 1:30PM

Burlington City Arts' Summer Concert Series presented by VSECU features Lowell Thompson on June 26.

Lowell Thompson is a musician who splits his time between Burlington, VT and Austin, TX.  Seven Days calls him, "A young tunesmith transformed into a true artistic force." Big Heavy World says Thompson is "The most genuine sort of musician out there." Rolling Stone magazine calls his music "Inspired Alt-Country." Any way you cut it, Thompson's work speaks for itself and has been vetted by his fellow musicians—hand-picked to share stages with the likes of Graham Parker, Justin Townes Earle, and Dawes. His latest effort entitled Stranger's Advice is being met with critical acclaim.

Burlington City Arts' annual summer concert series presented by VSECU kicks off on June 12. All are welcome to enjoy 22 free concerts, this year on lower Church Street near City Hall. The series takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:30 p.m. from June 12 to August 28. We've programmed a line-up that features both our local favorites and some from further afield that may be new to you. It's an excellent opportunity to listen to new music, have lunch with a friend or co-worker or enjoy being outside with your community, supporting live music.

As of May 1, sponsors include VSECU, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Dubois & King, Church Street Marketplace, NBC 5, 104.7 The Point, and Seven Days.
